GParted is the Gnome Partition Editor application designed for creating, reorganizing, and deleting disk partitions. The purpose of GParted is to allow you to change the partition organization in a hard disk, while preserving the partition contents.

You can create, destroy, resize, move, check and copy partitions, and the file systems on them, which is useful for creating space for new operating systems, copying data residing on hard disks and mirroring one partition with another. It uses libparted from the parted project to detect and manipulate partition tables. Optional file system tools permit managing file systems not included in libparted.
